THE NO. 4

It's not often that I drink a cocktail that makes me say WOW but this was definitely one of them. I first tried this cocktail at a restaurant here in Dallas called The Cedars Socials cocktail menu and immediately fell in love. It has the perfect amount of spiciness (from the peppercorn), sweetness (from the honey syrup) and bite (from the cardamom)

THE NO. 4

Recipe from Angus Winchester/Source from Esquire

6 cardamom pods
• 2 oz Tanqueray gin
• 1 oz fresh lime juice
• 1 oz honey syrup (1:1 honey and water mixed)

Crack the cardamom pods in a shaker, then put in the rest of the ingredients, "shake like hell," and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with fresh coarse black pepper.

The tip: "Crack the pods lightly. This is not a muddled drink."

Leftover honey syrup can last in the fridge for up to 1 month or frozen in ice cube trays for later use for ice teas, flavored waters and cocktails.
